We envisioned the Váci Mihály Catholic Primary School as a building with character, with external and internal organising power in Nagykáta. A building that is respectful of its surroundings, but which also continues to write the story on, becoming part of the pedagogy itself. An easily identifiable school-shaped building, a safe, lovable point in the lives of children. With its classrooms organised around a central auditorium, it represents a sense of community belonging, but also opens up to the inhabitants of the town in several directions. Its rich spatial layout allows for a variety of forms of education. A harmonious coexistence with the environment runs through the design concept, from the interior-exterior spatial relationships, through the choice of natural materials, to the user-friendly operation. At the same time, it does not lose sight of the child’s perspective, playfulness, and has plenty for the little ones to discover.
