The house in the garden city of Pilisborosjenő was built in the 1980s. The Clients’ request was to create rooms in the loft and to change the use of space on the ground floor. On the ground flor we keep one room, expand the kitchen-dining room-living room space and create a larder, while opening up the building towards the back garden. Into the loft we fit in three bedrooms and a bath. On the course of the reconstruction we keep the volume of the building and the pitch of the roof, but change the roof structure completely. In the existing saddleback roof, we skip the offcut above the entrance stairs and build a rectangular roof instead. This way the visible parts of the roof structure evoke the porches promoted by the townscape protection regulations. Insulated windows on the gable wall are of portrait orientation with olive green frames. Stairs from the kitchen will lead to the terrace on the north façade. Roof will be covered with segmented cut interlocking tiles. Plaster will be light grey in the basement zone. Walls of the ground floor and the gables of the roof will be painted old white with scraped-like rubbed-finish rendering.
