The young family approached us to design a house for them. The building should be as economical to run as possible, while at the same time blending in with the landscape. It should posess enough spare room both for expansion and for the heat and vapour management of the building as well. The site is located on the edge of the Gyón destrict, next to the Zlinszky mansion, and is currently occupied by a freshly plantedorchard. Based on the sine conditions, the needs of the client and the local building tradition we designed a simple hipped roofed building. An unbuilt attic is added to the groun floor plan, based on both architectural and energy considerations. The two shortes sides of the living space are enclosed by covered-open spaces, which are bordered by characterful brick pillars and walls similar to the porch houses in Dabas.
